Gilcee print with a 1/2 white boarder. The artwork is printed on matte archival paper, hand signed by the artist with edition number. The original work is an acyrlic, gouache and watercolor painting featuring a Portuguese Man-O-War "Physalia physalis" with Man-O-War fish "Nomeus gronovii".
Man-O-Wars are actually not true jelly fish, but colonially organisms called siphonophores. The pretty fish in this illustration are slightly immune to Man-O-War venom and will actually nibble on their tentacles. In exchange of protection and food, the Man-O-War fish lure other fish to their doom, thus feeding the Man-O-War host.
